Here's an experiment
Once upon a time there was this American couple who, after coming into a little bit of extra money, decided to vacation on the cheap in Europe. This was more like five or six years ago, so not once upon a time at all. Back when Americans could still come into a little bit of extra money.
Anyway, they ended up in a village somewhere in southeastern Europe. The sort of place that barely qualifies as Europe. There weren't any hotels and they didn't speak the language, so they grabbed a respectable middle-aged guy and gave him some dollars and followed him home. They found an empty room in the man's house with a queen-sized bed, which they immediately fell into for a brief nap. Whether the guy understood the transaction or was just really polite, the American couple's residency in the house was accepted by the middle-aged man and his family.
The next morning, a younger man from the village dropped by to say hello to the middle-aged man's daughter. The younger man was a computer programmer, and he spoke English, much to the American couple's delight.
